Who we are

North Digital ("we", "us", "our") is a web analytics and tracking consultancy based in the United Kingdom. Our website is north-digital.eu. You can contact us at contact@north-digital.eu.

What data we collect

We collect data through two channels:

• Website analytics: When you visit north-digital.eu, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) collects anonymised data including pages visited, time on site, referrer, and device type. This data is collected only after you grant consent via our cookie banner. No personal identifiers (names, email addresses, phone numbers) are collected through analytics.
• Contact form: When you submit our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and project description you provide. This data is processed by Formspree (our form provider) and forwarded to us via email. Formspree's privacy policy is at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.

How we use your data

• Analytics data is used solely to understand how visitors find and use our website — which pages are popular, which blog posts perform well, and whether our content strategy is working.
• Contact form data is used only to respond to your enquiry. We do not add your email address to any mailing list, send marketing emails, or share your details with third parties.

Cookies and consent

We use Google Consent Mode v2 with a self-hosted Silktide Consent Manager. On your first visit, our cookie banner asks you to accept or reject:

• Essential cookies: Required for the site to function. Always active.
• Analytics cookies: GA4 tracking. Only active if you accept.
• Marketing cookies: Google Ads tracking. Only active if you accept.
• Preferences cookies: Language and display preferences. Only active if you accept.

Your consent choice is stored in your browser's localStorage and remembered on return visits. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of any page.

Data retention

• GA4 data is retained for 14 months (standard Google Analytics 4 default).
• Contact form submissions are retained indefinitely in our email inbox for reference purposes. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us.

Third-party services

We use the following services which may process data on our behalf:

• Google Analytics 4 — website analytics (Google Ireland Ltd, GDPR-compliant via EU data processing terms)
• Google Tag Manager — tag management (no data stored by GTM itself; it deploys GA4)
• Formspree — contact form processing (Formspree, Inc., US-based, GDPR-compliant via Standard Contractual Clauses)
• Hostinger — website hosting (Hostinger International Ltd, EU-based servers)

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of that data
• Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

Legal basis

We process personal data under the following lawful bases:

• Consent: For analytics and marketing cookies (you explicitly accept via our banner)
• Legitimate interest: For essential cookies (required for site function) and responding to contact form enquiries
